O'day seemed to be on the way out by the time the 272 hit production line, the 272 was made by Starcraft Sailboat's and therefor its hull numbers represent that of Starcraft and not O'day. The O'day 272 came in a standard model and a luxury model, hence the 272 LE. Regardless the 272 could be setup exactly like the 272 LE by selecting each individual option, where as the 272 LE came with almost every option. It is arguable what boat is better, some prefer a tiller on a 27 foot boat and other would argue the wheel is the best, some like a inboard diesel while others like the outboard. You decide. The 272 is setup similar to the Catalina 27, as in to most the cabin would almost appear the same. The O'day 272 was created to be a fun weekend cruiser and it is just that.
