Our new O'day 272

My name's John. I just bought an O'day 272 and discovered there is very little information on these boats around the internet. This blog was created for people like me, owners, prospective buyers, and the curious. This picture was from our first sail on the new boat. I have the owners manual with diagrams etc. I also have most every document on the boat sense original purchase. Over the next few months I will try to get new information and how-to's posted from my work in progress. My 272 is in amazing shape but in all things 20 plus years old there is work to be done. I started out by cleaning everything and oiling the teak. Then I went over the boat with a screw driver and hand tightened everything. I made sure the rigging was all running properly and that the fiurler was cleaned and lubed. I need to replace the fuel line but still have not go around to that, also I have started working on bringing the electrical back to a basic functioning setup for cruising and not just being slipped. Stay tuned for updates on my progress with that boat!
